Annual National Pony Express Re-Ride
The Pony Express Annual Re-Ride is Caspar's tongue-in-cheek way of rewriting history. This excellent family festival is held in June of every year and it recreates the letter exchanges and pony rides that the Pony Express performed as they delivered the U.S. Mail from 1860 to 1861. The riders depart from St. Joseph, Missouri and ride west to Sacramento, California.

API Chili Cookoff
The heat is on when chili chefs from all over the area convene at the Casper Events Center for the API Chili Cook-Off, an annual event held every February. The money raised goes to aid over 20 local charities and the success of this great event is truly a community effort. The cook-off and festival features many fun activities, not the least of which is the prospect of all-you-can-eat chili, as well as raffles, door prizes, and lots more hot stuff!

Beartrap Summer Festival
Held every third weekend in July, Casper's Beartrap Summer Festival is not only the benchmark that signals the midpoint of the summer, it is a tuneful celebration that draws attendees from all over the area. Since 1994, this festival has made the Casper Mountain area ring with the breezy sound of bluegrass music, and you're sure to see some of the genre's most famous performers on stage. Also, there's plenty of food and fun for the kids. Don't miss the market area where artisans from all over display their wares and add to the unique fun of this highly popular event.

Casper Marathon
The Casper Marathon is held every June and it stands as a very dramatic reminder of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Participants are invited to "run with the herd" in an event that is half marathon, half marathon relay. The marathon is staged by the Casper Windy City Striders, the city's running club. Even though the group that organizes this event has literally logged thousands of miles in their respective races and daily runs; every effort is put forth to make this festival nothing short of a runaway success.

Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo
Rustling up the herds and ropin' 'em in is what it's all about at the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo held every July. As their slogan says, this is where the champions meet to duke it out for the much coveted titles in various events. From bull riding to roping to expertly handling steers, it's all here at this family-friendly festival that's guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat!

Casper Balloon Roundup
The big, expansive Wyoming sky is accentuated with all kinds of colors and shapes every year during the Casper Balloon Roundup. Held every July, this event, formerly known as the Central Wyoming Balloon Festival, attracts hundreds of spectators who are constantly amazed at the latest entries of this visually stunning event. Various businesses contribute their time and talents as sponsors of this free event, one of the many highlights of the summer in Casper.
